These professionals take pride in their jobs and strive to make Laurens County Government an efficient, helpful organization. The twenty three executive departments carry out the day-to-day functions of county government. Although each department has its own wide range of responsibilities, they each have a shared goal.
Laurens County has the Council / Administrator form of government implemented in January 1976 in accordance with the Home Rule Act enacted by the South Carolina General Assembly.

County Government Hours of Operation
Hours of operation for county offices is from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
Observed holidays are: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve - Christmas Day and the day after Christmas
Regularly Scheduled Meetings
Laurens County Council: Second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 5:30 P.M. in the County Council Chambers, Courthouse, Laurens City Square.
Laurens County Parks, Recreation and Tourism: Second Monday, on alternate months, 12:00pm (NOON) in the Conference Room, Church Street Office Complex in Laurens.
Laurens County Registration / Elections Commission: Third Tuesday every month at 6:00 P.M. County Council Chambers, Courthouse, Laurens City Square.
